The application method and quantities specified in the Technical Data Sheet of the product must be followed during the application.
When using HEMEL Sport Colors, we recommend using 3M blue masking tape. Poor quality paper tapes, which are available as masking tapes in the market, may stick on the primer during application and remain on the floor's primer or cause stains.
Since the application areas are extensive, when the water in the product evaporates during the drying phase, the environment's relative humidity can seriously increase.
As a result, problems such as drying time elongation or not completely drying may be observed. To prevent this, the area should be well ventilated after the application.
Compliance with the full curing time of the products in Sports Hall Wood Floor Varnishes is a significant factor in obtaining the varnish system's desired service life. When it is started to be used before this period is completed, scratches and marks that cannot be recovered or repaired may occur on the polish's surface.
The sports hall wood floor varnish system has a high gloss surface. After intensive and long-term use, the surface may become dull to a certain degree. In such cases or if annual maintenance is desired, 1 coat of HEMEL Sport Varnish can be applied to the entire surface on which the varnish is applied by sanding very well with 180-220 sandpaper. While doing this, care should be taken to make the sandpaper very well, not reuse the filled sandpaper, and not sand the field lines on the floor.
The full curing period of the system is 10 days. During this period, the area should not be used actively, and the environment should be well ventilated. When you want to clean the floors, it should be cleaned with cleaning materials that do not contain silica and ammonia. There is no harm in using automatic surface cleaning machines during cleaning.
Problems and Solutions
Footprints on the surface
- You can remove black-colored shoe marks that may occur from time to time on the surface with the help of warm water and a cloth.
A slippery problem in some areas on the surface of the field
- Depending on the field's usage intensity, the surface appearance of the varnish system will begin to turn dull over the years. The slippery you have observed on the surface is a result of the surface's matting and is a sign that it is time to maintain the site. If you wish, you can complete the maintenance process by applying 1 coat of product to the surface as stated in the title of "Tips," or you can apply the Varnish System again by scrapping the surface completely.

USE WATER-BASED PARQUET PAINTS TO PROTECT YOUR HEALTH AND FEEL THE WOOD WITH ITS NATURAL TEXTURE!
Sports halls are places where abrasion and maintenance times should be more frequent because of the high traffic. If the maintenance of the sports halls' wood floors is done properly, these wood floors will be durable for a long time, no matter how often they are used. With a correct scraper and parquet varnish system, the image will be like the first day. The wood floors that wear out due to frequent use may need repair or renewal.
Water-Based Gym Parquet Polish
Water-based parquet varnishes should be preferred for Parquet Polish applications and maintenance. When using parquet that is natural for your health, you should not risk your health by choosing a solvent-based parquet polish.
Water-based gym parquet varnishes, unlike solvent-based gym parquet polishes, do not contain harmful substances for health. After solvent varnishes are applied, gas is released by condensing with the sun or the combi's heat; this gas release enters our body through the respiratory tract, and you may encounter irreversible health problems. Water-based parquet varnishes are odorless; unlike solvent-based varnishes, they do not expand and release gas in hot conditions, and the naturalness of the wood is felt when touched on it because it does not form a film strip on the parquet surface. Water-based varnishes are odorless, do not contain harmful substances, do not form a polyester layer on the parquet, highlight the tree's textures, give a natural appearance, prevent rotting, and be insect-free.
