  • Hickson Timber Impregnation Co. Ltd. establishes first timber impregnation salts factory HEMEL in Turkey
1983
  • Becomes one of the leading suppliers to PTT and TEC of impregnation salts for poles
  • First, a long-lasting exterior breather paints Hickson Decor on the market.
1992
  • Distribution agreement signed with leading Italian paint manufacturer, Sayerlack.
  • The first two-component water-based parquet varnish was offered to the Turkish market.
1997
  • First "Class1" certified fire retardant Sayerlack on sale.
1999
  • Hickson's Timber Impregnation Co. Ltd. was acquired by Arch Chemicals, one of the USA's leading chemical companies.
2002
  • First arsenic-free, environmentally friendly vacuum pressure impregnation material offered to the Turkish Wood Sector.
2005
  • The first entry into the do it yourself market with Bauhaus and Koçtaş shops.
2010
  • Production of construction group wood coatings started with the establishment of the HEMEL factory in Tuzla.
2011
  • Arch Chemicals acquired by Swiss Lonza, leading biocidal producer in the world.
  • ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 18001:2007 Quality Certifications acquired.
2012
  • R & D department was established.
  • Production focused on water-based and environmentally friendly products.
2016
  • HEMEL enters 50. Year in the sector with renewed logo and new tins.
  • Countries exported to increased to 12.
  • Sales points within Turkey reached 350 locations.
2019
  • "Prime" brand introduced to the market.
  • TSE-ISO 10002: 2014 Customer Satisfaction Management System Certification acquired.
