Frequently Asked Questions
Is it harmful to use HEMEL Timbercare Aqua Impregnation products indoors?
There is no harm to health. Wood impregnated with the product must be completely dry before being installed indoors. If you are going to apply impregnation to the assembled wood, make sure that the application area is well ventilated to ensure complete drying.
Can I protect my wood by just applying HEMEL Timbercare Aqua Impregnation?
HEMEL Timbercare Aqua Impregnation product alone is not enough to protect your wood. HEMEL Timbercare Aqua is an impregnation material and your wood; It does not protect against mold, fungus, and infestation and does not protect against outdoor weather conditions. By applying breathable varnish, oil, or wood paints, you extend the life of your wood by protecting it against external weather conditions and sunlight (UV).
Which wood types is HEMEL Timbercare Aqua Impregnation used for impregnation?
Soft texture woods such as pine can be impregnated. Hardwoods such as Iroko and teak have both natural durability due to their dense texture and the product can't penetrate due to this dense texture. For this reason, hardwoods do not need to be impregnated.
Is there any point we should pay attention to in the usage areas of HEMEL Timbercare Aqua Impregnation?
- Hemel Timbercare Aqua Impregnation product is used only on soft texture woods above ground level that are not in contact with the soil. It is recommended to apply breathable varnish/paint or oil-based products to protect your wood against external weather conditions and sunlight after application.
- If it is a wood to be used at ground level or in contact with the soil, it must be treated in impregnation facilities with a vacuum pressure system to extend the life of the wood. (e.g. deck, flowerpot, vineyard stake)
Does the color of the wood change when I apply HEMEL Timbercare Aqua impregnation?
Although impregnation is a colorless product, there may be very little color difference compared to the tree genus.
Despite my application of HEMEL Timbercare Aqua impregnation, does the wood sound like a wolf? What should I do?
Such problems may occur if not enough impregnation is applied to all surfaces of the wood (front, back, and head parts) during impregnation application, or if the impregnation has not already reached the area where the Wolf is located. If there is paint on the surface, it is mistreated, re-impregnated and Hemel Timbercare Aqua is injected into the Wolf holes with a syringe to get rid of this problem.
How do I know if I'm driving a sufficient amount of product when applying HEMEL Timbercare Aqua impregnation?
You can compare the square meter of the area you are applying for impregnation and the amount of product you are consuming with the value specified in the “consumption amount” heading. Care should also be taken to completely wet the wooden surface of the product to ensure that a sufficient amount of product is applied.
Can I use it instead of impregnated primer?
In HEMEL Timbercare Aqua Impregnation formulation, resin, filling, etc. Since it does not contain substances that can saturate the wood surface, it cannot be used as a primer. If primer application is desired, the primer application can be made extra after the impregnation process.

What is impregnation, what is wood preservative?
Impregnation is the process of impregnating the sapwood of wood with various chemicals using special methods. Preservatives are divided into two according to their content. Water-based and synthetic impregnation.
Water-based preservatives are odorless and safe for health.
Water-based preservatives protect against worms, fungi, and mold in wood for up to 15 years. Impregnation protects the wood from the inside and prevents it from rotting. While it allows it to breathe, it allows it to expel the moisture inside and extend its life.
Soft texture woods such as pine can be impregnated. Hardwoods such as Iroko and teak have both natural durability due to their dense texture and the product can't penetrate due to this dense texture. For this reason, hardwoods do not need to be impregnated.
Where is Wood Impregnation used?
The impregnation process is applied for all kinds of construction applications, facade cladding, garden furniture, fence, patio, pergola, pier, marina, children's playgrounds, agricultural areas, and similar wood to be used. The impregnated wood is protected from the inside, and protected against rot.
What are the methods of water-based impregnation?
Wood protective impregnation is applied by brush, roller, or dipping methods generally used in the industrial field, depending on the surface width of the application area and the areas of use.
Hemel wood preservatives are ready to use, there is no need for thinning. To get the best results, we recommend you to comply with the application methods and amounts specified in the technical data sheets of the purchased product. Impregnation is not available to be applied on painted/varnished wood, the wood must be sanded beforehand, and also it must be cleared of dirt and dust.
