Interior UseApply by brush or rollerStir Well1 Lt covers 12-15 m2High abrasion and scratch resistance Tips
During the application, the application method and quantities specified in the Technical Data Sheet of the product must be followed.
The parquet surface should be scrubbed with 40-60-120 grit sandpaper, respectively, with a scraper machine.
The edges that you cannot reach with the scraper machine should be sanded with an edge sander.
Sanding marks on the surface should be removed by using 120 grit sandpaper with vibratory sandpaper.
If you are going to apply with a roller, pour the amount of product you will use into a container that your roller can fit. Make sure the container is dry and clean.
You can adjust the amount of hardener you will use by looking at the measurement part on the package.
Do not mix too quickly; Gradually add the hardener while mixing.
When you have finished adding the hardener, stop mixing and let the polish rest for 10 minutes before applying.
Start the application with a brush from the edges.
Do not scan too much to leave enough product on the surface while applying.
After the application is completed, the drying time is 24 hours. You can press the surface after 24 hours. 7 days should wait for carpet laying or cleaning.
The brush or roller to be used in the application must be saturated with the product before starting the application. After this process, the excess product remaining on the roller or brush should be removed by rubbing the edge of the package or using a suitable apparatus. Thus, in the first applications, an equal and sufficient amount of polish will be applied to the surface.
Since the absorbency of wood is high in the first coat of polish application, a minimum of 85-100 grams of the product should be applied per square meter to prevent possible roller and brush marks. Also while applying the first coat; it is important to apply the polish on the parquet surface first transversely, then longitudinally, without combing too much, to apply an even and sufficient amount of polish to the surface.
Since HEMEL Ultramat is very matt, it offers the opportunity to perform local care. The surface in need of maintenance should be sanded with 180-220 grit sandpaper and then 1 coat application should be made as specified in the application instructions.
The product is ready to use. In very hot weather, 2-3% drinking water is used to facilitate the application of the product and to extend the drying and spreading time.
can be thinned. If the product is to be used with the hardener, adding water for thinning should be done after the mixture with the hardener is prepared.
Problems and Solutions
The product doesn’t spread and collects in certain areas on the surface during the application
Causes of the Problem:
- Not enough sanding between coats.
- Thinning the product more than necessary
- Application of less product than the recommended amount on the surface
- The presence of silicone or solvent vapors in the environment. For example; The use of silicone products in the environment before and not enough ventilation (PVC application, use of solvent-based paint, etc.)
- Other substances getting on the brush or roller used or not being well cleaned before use.
Solution:
- Applications under the title of problem causes should be checked and the conditions causing this should be eliminated.
- If the product has just been applied to the surface and the area is small, the paint on the surface should be removed with a clean cloth and the surface should be completely cleaned from the new paint.
- If it is not possible to clean the surface, more combing should be done on the surface with a brush by adding some polish.
- When the product doesn't spread and collects in certain areas on the surface, the problem should be eliminated before allowing the product to dry on the surface.
Clumping of the product as a result of fast addition of the hardener
Causes Of The Problem:
* Adding a hardener to the Polish too quickly or not mixing at the stage of adding a hardener to the Polish.
Solution:
* A hardener should be added slowly while mixing the polish with a stick or spatula. Mixing should not be done too quickly.
- If clumping has occurred, if the lumps formed in a small amount should be mixed very well, and then rest for 10 minutes so that the foam formed by filtering the Polish-hardener mixture disappears.
* During this mixing process, mixing should be done continuously in the same direction so that the Polish does not foam too much.
Formation of floor or roll marks on the surface
Causes Of The Problem:
* Incomplete or incorrect application
* Applying less products to the surface than recommended
* Excessive scanning during application
* Application is not done in the direction of the veins of the wood

* Operations in the problem causes header should be checked and the conditions that cause it should be eliminated.
